In November, I plan to write a series of Pleiades. What are the Pleiades, you might ask? It is a poem with a one-word title and seven stanzas. Each of the stanzas has to begin with the same letter as the one-word title. It is not required for the Pleiades to rhyme. I tried my hand with it using the letter A. Therefore, I wrote Pleiades and the Magic of M to post in November.
I also will be providing NaNoWriMo updates. I’m an overachiever. As 2020 wasn’t a big enough freakshow, I decided to do the 50,000-word challenge again.
(First Pleiades and the Magic of M)
Mirage
Media blitz comes over the TV
Mouth of chaos trumpeting disaster
Minacious voice mandating my conformity
Mealy-mouthed proclaimers of prophecy
Meanwhile back at the crib
My husband and I sift through the maze
Mulling over plots of defiance
(Second Pleiades and the Magic of M)
Machiavellian
Mindful that might doesn’t always make right
Maybe you should have used a different method
Mudsuckers generally have short sight
Mischievous manipulators of the truth
Middle of the road isn’t always the most comfortable spot
Moments before the bus runs over your hide
Motivation enough to find a safe place to hide
(Third Pleiades and the Magic of M)
Mayhem
Mob of restless tyrants marching in the street
Merrymakers with no thought of responsibility
Meanspirited crusaders without a righteous cause
Manhandling everyone they meet
Mimicking masqueraders without dignity
Macabre mockingbirds with treacherous claws
Macaroni helmet and mock magic sticks
NaNoWriMo update
I’m over halfway to the goal. Typed 1509 words today for a grand total of 25843.
