I had fun writing my Pleiades poems in November, so I thought I’d try my hand at playing with Limericks. This style of poetry consists of a single stanza of five lines. The first, second, and fifth lines are supposed to rhyme. Also, the third and fourth lines should rhyme with each other. These short poems should have an AABBA structure. The limerick is a folk style of poetry. It can be humorous and, at times, bawdy. I’m not certain if I can achieve witty or bawdy, but hopefully, I can stick with the rhyme pattern. Therefore, I wrote Scary Larry in honor of the old men who spend afternoons sitting at the liar’s table. You know who you are.
Scary Larry
Once there was an old man named Larry
Who was grumpy more times than merry
He was never very nice
When he ordered another slice
His attitude could get down right scary
Every city and town in the Hoosier state has a restaurant where old men to twell wild stories. I call these hot spots for community gossip liar’s tables. I wrote Scary Larry to honor the old geezers’ of this world.

Love that! Old Geezers need serious recognition!! The wisdom of our times!
Your Kokomantis is curious. Your town mascot?? One of those sits 100’s of feet in the air at St. Louis’s City Museum.
Best wishes!
At first, The Mentis is very contraversial here in town. He is accepted know as part of our local culture.
Nice! It must be his brother at St. Louis. No problem with acceptance there. Lol. Perhaps more entomology inclusive. 😉
