Line 1 is a short phrase or image. Line 2 is another short phrase or image using the same first word as line 1. Lines 3 and 4 starts with the same word used as the last word of line 2. Then, lines 5 and 6 use the last word of line 4. This pattern is followed until line 48. Line 49 uses the last word in 48. Line 50 begins with the last word in line 47. The title is three words long. The title format is the first word of line 3, a preposition or conjunction, and the first word of 47. You can’t use any punctuation. Luckily, these poems don’t need to rhyme. This poetic adventure will either be a lot of fun or leave me frustrated. I will call this Blitz poem is titled Recover and Circle. Let’s get our spooky scare on right now.
Recover and Circle
Face the fear
Face calamity and recover
Recover and stand strong
Recover and remember the song
Song of deliverance
Song of victory
Victory from the pain
Victory from calamity
Calamity and confusion
Calamity and anxiety
Anxiety for the future
Anxiety about the past
Past difficulties
Past mistakes
Mistakes made by omission
Mistakes made without a plan
Plan without thought for the future
Plan with strings attached
Attached like a magnet to metal
Attached like gravity’s pull
Pull with all the force of nature
Pull filled with emotion
Emotion of love versus hate
Emotion of lust versus distaste
Distaste for the voice
Distaste for the program
Program shoved down my throat
Program fill with so many lies
Lies and illusions
Lies you speak
Speak without passion
Speak truth to power
Power that is an illusion
Power too blind to see
See the wounded and weary
See beyond the agenda
Agenda with spots
Agenda that is blind
Blind to the truth
Blind and severe
Severe and harsh
Severe and promote fear
Fear of the future
Fear of your design
Design to promote fear
Design in a vicious circle
Circle of trauma
Circle of drama
Drama
Trauma
