I took up the challenge this year to make a blog post every day. At first, it sounded like an easy task, but I soon discovered it more challenging than I ever imagined. For part of the year-long adventure, I explored different styles of poetry. I decided to revisit many of these styles in November. NaNoWriMo takes up most of my time during this month. Plus, the weather turns cold, making it hard to go on an adventure unless Rooster and I decide to visit our baby chick in New York City. Sometimes I get a hunger for the road. Christmas is right around the corner. I wrote this blitz poem because this is the time of year when I like to snuggle in bed where it is warm. I call it Challenge While Swamp.
Challenge While Swamp
NaNoWriMo is here
NaNoWriMo challenge
Challenge to write
Challenge of 50,000 words
Words made of letters
Worlds of consonants and vowels
Vowels with mouth open
Vowels add dimension to a thought
Thought and image
Thought of story
Story living in my mind
Story left to percolate
Percolate for months
Percolate until it boils
Boils in the heat
Boils in the back of the brain
Brain soaked in drama
Brian soaked in romance
Romance will be the dance
Romance my genre of choice
Choice for this year
Choice I had to make
Make for the challenge
Make a story from a fairytale
Fairytale of Beauty and the Beast
Fairytale with a twist
Twist that makes it modern
Twist I can write in a month
Month of passion and adventure
Month of tying it out clean
Clean plagued with errors
Clean as a pantster
Panster can get
Panster with a beauty
Beauty that falls for a beast
Beauty who id afraid to love
Love a beast with her whole heart
Love a beast with a secret
Secrets have a way of simmering
Secrets make for a good adventure
Adventure of love
Adventure of lust
Lust sparks passion
Lust between beauty and a beast
Beast who lives on a plantation
Beast from a Louisiana swamp
Swamp out on the bayou
Swamp filled with gators
Gators
Bayou
