Definition of an acrostic poem and its relationship to A Warning Glance
An acrostic poem starts when the poet uses the first letter of each line of verse to form a word, phrase, or sentence. The poem deals with the subject of the letters selected to form a stream of thought. The poem doesn’t have any rules concerning meter or rhythm. A poet may try to do both, but there is no rule regarding how the poem should be formed, except the first letter of each line must have a special meaning.
A Warning Glance
Aware that my eyes were following you
Watching shadows, I attempt to see through
And trembling from your hard treacherous look
Reading marked pages in a storybook
Nerves of soft steel and a backbone of glass
Inspiration, an invisible gas
Nestled deep in the eye of the beholder
Giving us courage, making us bolder
Glaring warning glance ending our safe play
Leaving us languid with nothing to say
Ambiance of a golden liquid color
Natures last soft relic of summer
Capturing our attention with a glance
Evading winter’s furious romance
