Entry 110: Social Media

I’ve never been good about keeping a journal. It all boils down to consistency. There are days when I skip making an entry. Life can crowd out the time I need to write down my thoughts about a day’s events. I’ve also been reluctant to pose as an expert on the writing process. If I knew anything of value about writing, my work would already be in print. I went out on a skinny limb of a tall in 2022 when I shared my 365 days of thankfulness. The exercise forced me to put myself out there with my soft belly exposed. Thank you for joining me on my journey in the written word. Therefore, I plan to keep a journal in 2023 to document my progress. I will call this post Entry 110: Social Media.

Note: I consider editing an important part of the writing process. Editing is where all the artistry happens.

My morning writing before I started Entry 110: Social Media

Someone told me recently I needed to give up Twitter. I’ll admit I’m frustrated with it at the moment. It isn’t the Musk takeover that has me rattled. I find that I spent too much of my time trying to keep up with the platform. Plus, they tended to lock me out for following too many people or clicking on the retweet button too much. I found Twitter jail embarrassing.

I am distancing myself from my book, so I spent the morning watching YouTub videos about Instagram. My source told me that this social media platform was hot, whatever that meant. I’m not fond of Facebook, so I doubt I will enjoy this form of social torture. WordPress is my favorite place to spend my time online. The content is so much more intelligent.

The book I am currently reading right now and Entry 110: Social Media

I read part two of Barbara Taylor Bradford’s The Heir today. Edward somehow married his wife while he remained married to another woman. He drops this bomb on her because his scheming brother somehow discovered he had committed bigamy. That meant their seven children weren’t legitimate. Elizabeth agrees to marry him in a secret ceremony. He still carries on his relationship with his mistress, and I have a hard time liking this guy.

What I’m listening to right now and Entry 110: Social Media

I put The Very Best of Sting and The Police on the stereo. It surprised me how many of these songs I hear playing today at the grocery store and other public places where they have music playing in the background.

What I dreamed last night and Entry 110: Social Media

I am having trouble catching my dreams this week. The reason might be that our house is such a mess. Rooster and I, with the help of our son-in-law, are installing a shower in the bathroom. I should mention our son-in-law is doing most of the work. Our world is a mess right now.

The adventure Rooster and I took and

Rooster and I spent the day doing construction. I am looking forward to taking a shower tonight. It may consist of dumping a bucket of water over my head, but at least we have the drain in now.

The thing I am most thankful for at this moment.

I am thankful I could shower in my bathroom today. Nothing is as good as stepping under a stream of warm water after a long day.

This old lady says

It is human nature not to appreciate simple things until they are gone. A hot shower is something we take for granted. I appreciated the one I took today.

I am the author of Saving the Hen House. I didn't know when I started it would turn into a series. I love to ride motorcycles, the blues, my family, and going on adventures. This old hen rocks.
