Entry 155: Living With the Story

I’ve never been good at keeping a journal. It all boils down to consistency. There are days when I skip making an entry. Life can crowd out the time I need to write down my thoughts about a day’s events. I’ve also been reluctant to pose as an expert on the writing process. If I knew anything of value about writing, my work would already be in print. I went out on a skinny limb in 2022 when I shared my 365 days of thankfulness. The exercise forced me to put myself out there with my soft belly exposed. Thank you for joining me on my journey in the written word. Therefore, I plan to keep a journal in 2023 to document my progress. I will call this post Entry 155: Living With the Story.

Note: I consider editing an important part of the writing process. Editing is where all the artistry happens.

My morning writing before I started Entry 155: Living With the Story

I spent the morning editing like I do every day., and I know this process makes Amazing Buchanan and the Beast much better. I have lived with this story for almost the entire year. This work needs to be done before I allow anyone else to read it. I learned that lesson when I finished my Saving the Henhouse’s first draft. The book wasn’t fit for human eyes. It needed several edits before I gave it to anyone, but like an idiot, I gave it to people to read. It was so full of grammar errors and words that needed to disappear that I don’t know how anyone made it through the mess. I won’t do that again.

I am writing my Free Verse Poems. Word Daddy’s whispered a few words in my direction. I also posted my first Life Lesson yesterday. It might not be possible to write one every day. I haven’t learned that many lessons yet. Oh, well, it’s all one big adventure.

The book I am currently reading right now and Entry 155: Living With the Story

I haven’t picked a new book to read next, but I am still considering Jan Austen.

What I’m listening to right now and Entry 155: Living With the Story

Counting Crows are singing in my ears right now. I put on ‘New Amsterdam’ this afternoon. I’ve enjoyed listening to these guys’ jam today.

The Adventure Rooster and I took today and Entry 155: Living With the Story

We threw caution to the wind and went to the movie to see the new Guardians of the Galaxy. We aren’t worried about getting sick, but the shows being made these days aren’t very interesting. It seems like we’ve seen the storyline before. We liked this last addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy, but it wasn’t our favorite.

I am the author of Saving the Hen House. I didn't know when I started it would turn into a series. I love to ride motorcycles, the blues, my family, and going on adventures. This old hen rocks.
