Entry 171: Let the Creative Waters Flow

I’ve never been good at keeping a journal. It all boils down to consistency. There are days when I skip making an entry. Life can crowd out the time I need to write down my thoughts about a day’s events. I’ve also been reluctant to pose as an expert on the writing process. If I knew anything of value about writing, my work would already be in print. I went out on a skinny limb in 2022 when I shared my 365 days of thankfulness. The exercise forced me to put myself out there with my soft belly exposed. Thank you for joining me on my journey in the written word. Therefore, I plan to keep a journal in 2023 to document my progress. I will call this post Entry 171: Let the Creative Waters Flow.

Note: I consider editing an important part of the writing process. Editing is where all the artistry happens.

My morning writing before I started Entry 171: Let the Creative Waters Flow

An unusual thing happened while I was walking today. The prologue that needs to be added to Prestige popped into my mind. The funny thing is I never planned to include a monologue. The one that came to mind sets up the story in a perfect way. It consists of a dialogue between the twin brothers after their uncle gives them an ultimatum. Maybe this piece of writing has been blocking the editing work I’ve been doing on Amazing Buchanan and the Beast.

I was also able to capture another Free Verse Poem. Things might move along now that the dam has been broken. I say let the creative waters flow.

The book I am currently reading right now and Entry 171: Let the Creative Waters Flow

I didn’t read much of Jan Austen’s Sense and Sensibility today. I’ve been too busy typing words to do much reading. Edward did finally come for a visit, but he doesn’t seem happy.

What I’m listening to right now and Entry 171: Let the Creative Waters Flow

I listen to the blues music Rooster is playing in the background. There wasn’t any time to make a choice today.

I am the author of Saving the Hen House. I didn't know when I started it would turn into a series. I love to ride motorcycles, the blues, my family, and going on adventures. This old hen rocks.
