Entry 214: Changing Direction

I’ve never been good at keeping a journal. It all boils down to consistency. There are days when I skip making an entry. Life can crowd out the time I need to write down my thoughts about a day’s events. I’ve also been reluctant to pose as an expert on the writing process. If I knew anything of value about writing, my work would already be in print. I went out on a skinny limb in 2022 when I shared my 365 days of thankfulness. The exercise forced me to put myself out there with my soft belly exposed. Thank you for joining me on my journey in the written word. Therefore, I plan to keep a journal in 2023 to document my progress. I will call this post Entry 214: Changing Direction.

Note: I consider editing an important part of the writing process. Editing is where all the artistry happens.

My morning writing before I started Entry 214: Changing Direction

Life moved in reverse today. I woke up and decided to write three Golden Shovel Poems. The morning pages for Amazing Buchanan and the Beast always come first. I am close to ending my relationship with Will Blake. He’s starting to get on my nerves with all the thee-and-thou stuff. Word Daddy needs to show up because I could use a little inspiration. The guy always hits the road about when I could use his help. I understand the concept of being born to be wild, but this guy takes things to the extreme.

I didn’t get any editing done because Rooster and I took the day off.

The book I am currently reading right now and Entry 214: Changing Direction

I am thinking of ditching my efforts of reading A Memoir of Jane Austen. J.E. Austen-Leigh didn’t know Jane well, and he isn’t easy to read. Changing directions might be a good choice right now.

What I’m listening to right now and Entry 214: Changing Direction

I am still listening to the full concert of The Band’s The Last Waltz. It was a very long show filled with many artists. The film version cut the night short. I listened to Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan play this morning. A great way to start the day.

I am the author of Saving the Hen House. I didn't know when I started it would turn into a series. I love to ride motorcycles, the blues, my family, and going on adventures. This old hen rocks.
