I’ve never been good at keeping a journal. It all boils down to consistency. There are days when I skip making an entry. Life can crowd out the time I need to write down my thoughts about a day’s events. I’ve also been reluctant to pose as an expert on the writing process. If I knew anything of value about writing, my work would already be in print. I went out on a skinny limb in 2022 when I shared my 365 days of thankfulness. The exercise forced me to put myself out there with my soft belly exposed. Thank you for joining me on my journey in the written word. Therefore, I plan to keep a journal in 2023 to document my progress. I will call this post Entry 229: The Chapters Flow.
Note: I consider editing an important part of the writing process. Editing is where all the artistry happens.
My morning writing before I started Entry 229: The Chapters Flow
I moved further this week in my Amazing Buchanan and the Beast editing process than I expected. Three chapters flowed past this morning. I made the corrections I needed to make before arriving at the spot where I needed to rewrite. Tomorrow that will top my agenda. Golden Shovel tops my list for this afternoon. I still need to do a lot of painting, so I might get caught up and not accomplish anything.
The book I am currently reading right now and Entry 229: The Chapters Flow
In Edith Wharton’s The House of Mirth, Lily’s role seems to be a scapegoat for her friend’s sins. Bertha Dorset uses her to distract her husband while she carries on with Silverton. When they miss their train and don’t show up all night, she turns the tables on Lily and throws her off the boat. That leaves her stranded. Selden helps her find a place to stay for the night.
What I’m listening to right now and Entry 229: The Chapters Flow
I am listening to an original movie soundtrack from Th Commitments. Rooster and I both love the Irish movie. The setting is in Dublin. It’s about a music group that formed, plays American soul music, and breaks up before they are successful.
