Entry 232: Close to the End

I’ve never been good at keeping a journal. It all boils down to consistency. There are days when I skip making an entry. Life can crowd out the time I need to write down my thoughts about a day’s events. I’ve also been reluctant to pose as an expert on the writing process. If I knew anything of value about writing, my work would already be in print. I went out on a skinny limb in 2022 when I shared my 365 days of thankfulness. The exercise forced me to put myself out there with my soft belly exposed. Thank you for joining me on my journey in the written word. Therefore, I plan to keep a journal in 2023 to document my progress. I will call this post Entry 232: Close to the End.

Note: I consider editing an important part of the writing process. Editing is where all the artistry happens.

My morning writing before I started Entry 232: Close to the End

I am so close to the end of this round of editing Amazing Buchanan and the Beast that I can almost taste it. The chapter I worked on today will need some work, but I am nearing the book’s final scenes. I can honestly say I still like the book. I won’t work on any Golden Shovels Poems today because of the time factor. Robert Frosts Mending Walls is next on my list. It is a long poem that might carry me into next month.

The book I am currently reading right now and Entry 232: Close to the End

I finished reading Edith Wharton’s The House of Mirth. I’m conflicted about the ending. There were signs it would be tragic, but I hoped poor Lily would have a happy ending. I’m taking a few days to digest things before I start Jo Jo Moyes’ The Giver of Stars. Her writing is awesome. I’ve had this book in the house for about one year now. It’s time for it to be read.

What I’m listening to right now and Entry 232: Close to the End

The house is silent. It’s been that sort of morning.

I am the author of Saving the Hen House. I didn't know when I started it would turn into a series. I love to ride motorcycles, the blues, my family, and going on adventures. This old hen rocks.
